One big farewell

It has been a good ten years. My worn out passport has been 'punched out' yesterday, ending his travelling days. It was as though i commited adultery as i left the immigration office with a brand new passport snugged in my pocket. My heart sunk when my old buddy couldnt serve with another good ten years. The officer said it was a new policy. I insisted that he was still a few pages short of being completely filled with entry stamps. Sentiments and policies doesnt come in pairs , I would have known.
